"Some people swear there's no beauty left in the world, no magic. Then how do you explain the entire world coming together on one night to celebrate the hope of a new year?"
I know I share this every year but I love it so much. The movie New Years Eve and the quote above and the one I'll share below by Hillary Swank's character are just the best. There is something so promising and exciting about the start to a new year at the stroke of midnight and I love taking the days leading up to it to stop and reflect on "days gone by" and to look forward to the future.
I’m officially passing the torch to my sister Courtney and entering this new phase of my life. I’m so grateful for all of your kindness, friendship, and support through the years and I hope you’ll continue to support Courtney in the same ways. This isn’t goodbye forever, of course, and if you’re still interested in connecting with me I post every now and then over at @roadcalledlife. I hope y'all have a fabulous NYE, whether you'll be popping the champagne at a fancy party or staying in with loved ones! Thanks for everything and Happy New Year, y'all!🎉
"As you can all see the ball has stopped half way to its perch. It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the New Year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt. Cause that's what New Year's is all about, getting another chance. The chance to forgive, to do better to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what will be. So when that ball drops at midnight, and it will drop, let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight, but all year long."💛
