SC Weekend | May 2-3, 2015

Hey y'all! I hope your Monday is off to a great start and you are crossing those to-do's off your list one by one!

But, just incase you're in need of a little procrastination, here's a little look into what I was up to this weekend! ;)

PHOTO 1: NSS PREP

I leave for New York City and the National Stationery Show in 11 days so I am up to my ears with projects! This weekend I worked on my pre-show mailers to send out to retailers, inviting them to stop by my booth! I did a pretty simple mailer but it was still a tedious project! I hand wrote notes to each retailer and hand addressed the envelopes. I'm so thankful my mama is 1) helpful and 2) crafty because she cut the envelope liners and helped me doodle a little floral detail on the outside of each envelope! I'm excited for these to make it to their destinations!

PHOTO 2: PAPER FLOWERS

Being in the shared Stat Acad booth is definitely a blessing but it does come with some challenges. Not only is space an issue but making sure your signature style shines through requires some creativity! This year I'm adding some 3D elements to my board and I'm so happy with how my paper flowers are turning out! That being said, NSS prep is clearly not conducive to manicures. It's pretty obvious to see why I've been painting them myself!

PHOTO 3: DIY NAIL ART

I'm the kind of person that when I have a lot on my plate, I find almost anything else to do (even cleaning!) to procrastinate. So, after I was done paper flower crafting, I cleaned off the paint and decided to try my hand at some fancy nail art! I just used acrylic paint for the flowers and covered with a clear top coat! I'm not quite ready to try my left hand at such a masterpiece so for now my hands look like this! Ha!

PHOTO 4: HISTORICAL SOCIETY

After church and lunch at a downtown Germantown restaurant, we stopped by the Germantown Historical Society! It's the old public library and they were having an open house. I haven't been inside since I was a kid and I loved seeing the inside again. It's such a gorgeous building! It was also a lot of fun to see old pictures of my town and learn some new history! I was really trying hard to get a photo with no people in it, but it was pretty busy so this was the best I could do!

PHOTO 5: ICE CREAM & SUNSET

After a family get-together, my boyfriend Jeremy and I made a stop at Dairy Queen to pick up some Blizzards! The sunset was absolutely beautiful so we pulled off in an old parking lot, got out the lawn chairs and enjoyed ourselves! I have this infatuation with the sky. J always teases me because every day I say, "Oh my gosh! Look at the sky - it's so pretty!". I guess I do sound kind of silly to other people but I just can't get over how gorgeous and different it looks every day.

I hope your weekend was just as wonderful and enjoyable! Now it's time to kick this to-do lists butt! ;)
