I get quite a few emails from shop owners, or those hoping to open one, quite often. While these are probably one of my favorite emails to respond to, they usually get pushed to the end of the list because my work has to come first. Over the years to help compensate for my slow email responses, I have shared some tips and tricks for social media, selling on Etsy and running a creative business. Every now and then I feel called to share something regarding this road called Entrepreneurship but my shop blog just doesn't feel like the right place to do that anymore. I've toyed with the idea of starting a newsletter where I could share posts with those who opt-in for that sort of information, but I don't know about y'all, my Inbox is almost always a scary place. The thought of sending one more email and adding another checkbox to someone's to-do list just didn't feel right either.
So, I've decided to start a members only, shop owner's resource blog. This will be a place where I share all kinds of tips and information to help navigate creative entrepreneurship. Because I've chosen to go with a blog as the platform, there will be a place for comments and discussion where boutique business owners, like myself, can grow, learn and connect. For just $20 a year, you will have a roadmap to help you run your online shop. Even better, you can view the posts at any time that's convenient for you and you'll have them to look back on all year long.
Here's just a teeny tiny look at some of the content that's coming up first:
- Social media tips, tricks and shortcuts.
- Why you should have your own shop - not just an Etsy shop.
- Why I'm planning to break up with Etsy in early 2015.
- How to create new revenue streams. Including passive ones!
- Product photography tips and resources.
- How I turn my hand lettering into vectors to use on products.
- How to drive traffic to your online shop.
- Q & A
I still plan to do the occasional "tips and tricks" post here on the shop blog, but for the most part, that type of content will be shared only with the Shop Talk members. If you have any questions at all regarding Shop Talk, please leave a comment or shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
